Another capacity crowd filled the Institute for Neil, Vera and Dave Luke on Friday, March 7th, 2014.
Glad to be back performing live away from the confines of the studio, Vera performed with Dave and then with Neil, who played songs of London Road and told stories of Italy with Dave, Vera and then Vera and Dave for a rousing encore.
By incorporating the elementals of stories and songs by fire, the Big Boulder avoids the distressing formality commonly associated with high-end arts provision and provides a really warm, relaxing atmosphere that was embraced by the crowd and the musicians.
The seamless interchanging of roles within songs has been (and continues to be) honed by the experience of writing, touring and recording together; there’s a real community growing out of the Big Boulder, now putting down some roots of it’s own, and an encroaching hint of future creative collaborations…
