Our musical year kicks off in style with the very welcome return of two artists perfectly suited to the intimacy of the Institute. Neil is much loved here in his home town but over recent years he has become more widely known and respected as a songsmith of the highest order, with a deceptively delicate guitar style and a voice that charms hearts. He is a regular collaborater with the hugely talented Vera Van Heeringen. Vera combines the calm but unflinching honesty of her native Dutch culture with a love of country blues to create something quite unique. An increasingly respected guitar picker, she writes thoughtful and open hearted songs that stay with you.
Along for the ride will be one or two very fine musicians to augment and fill out the sound so you can expect to be warmed right through by the time you head back out into the spring evening.
