The Big Boulder Music and Arts Festival 2014 took place on Sunday, Sepember 7th, with revellers from all over Sheffield filling he park in some glorious late summer Heeley sunshine for exhibitions, music and food.
“It was a fantastic day” said Lucy Armstrong, who was exhibiting her ‘Explores Collection’. “I think that it’s really important for art to be enjoyed openly at events like Big Boulder, which are all about community and having run rather than elitism”.
“Everything about the festival was really positive” added Kerry Donald, of Hunters Bar. “The sculptures and exhibitions were really well sourced and there was a real cohesion between some really diverse elements”.
Swill Odgers, Bright Lights and Tandem took o the main stage to soundtrack chainsaw sculpture, giant bubbles in the air, Caribbean Delights and ice cream and an array of arts and crafts workshops. “There have always been a lot of creative people living nearby” said Dorothy Masters, of Heeley Green. “It’s great to see a forum for it all to come together”.
